NHPD attorneys appear in every Circuit Court and Superior Court in the State, as well as the New Hampshire Supreme Court. In our busy and complex litigation practice, we appear in the following proceedings:
  • The majority of our work involves providing criminal defense representation to the poor in misdemeanor and felony cases in the Circuit Courts and the Superior Courts of New Hampshire.
  • Our practice also includes representing children in juvenile delinquency matters in the local Circuit Courts.
  • Since 1980, NHPD has staffed the Appellate Defender Program, a law office dedicated to conducting appellate advocacy in the New Hampshire Supreme Court on behalf of the poor in indigent-defense cases.
  • NHPD attorneys provide representation in most of the murder cases pending at any given time in New Hampshire.
  • We represent the accused in death penalty offenses and possess extensive experience in capital litigation and capital appeals.
  • NHPD attorneys appear as counsel on behalf of people alleged to be dangerous sexual predators and facing involuntary civil commitment proceedings pursuant to NHRSA 135-E.
